The Cork City Unit has a dedicated team of volunteer uniformed medics trained to Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and rigorous Irish Red Cross First Aid Standards. All our medics are licenced PHECC-Responders with many crew members holding EMT (PHECC-Practitioner) licences, as well as having many years of experience.
We pride ourselves in our strict Basic Life Support training, continually updating our standards and constantly maintaining our AEDs and CPR skills, to be prepared for when the worst happens instantly. We have trained all our members as Advanced Cardiac First Responders, as well as some members having further training as BLS/AED Instructors and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) familiarisation.
To support our crew we operate three highly equipped vehicles as well as a Cycle Response Unit (CRU) and a Mountain Bike First Response Unit (MBU). Our two ambulances are maintained to the highest standards and capable of on-scene first aid provision, emergency transport, and inter-facility patient transports. The addition of our two Bike Units allows us to rapidly respond to emergencies at crowded events or to areas where an ambulance can't easily reach, helping us to provide immediate care where and when it's needed. We also have available in the Cork Area of the Irish Red Cross, a mini-bus, a mobile communications vehicle, and several 4 wheel drive jeep units.
Over the years we have covered a wide range of events, including marathons, roads races, motorsport, athletics, international football matches, televised matches, rugby leagues, martial arts tournaments, cage fights, large outdoor gatherings, parades, concerts, large festivals and many more. Our experience and service has built us a client base which we are delighted to work with on a regular basis, however we available for all year round for new customers also.
The funds from our event medical cover service allows us to train and secure equipment to facilitate our community activities and respond in times of emergency or disaster both locally and nationally.

To book our ambulance unit for an event you are planning please complete the below enquiry form, providing contact details and information about your event. The more details you provide the easier we will be able to match a crew and vehicle for best coverage at your event. If you have any questions about our service or need help planning medical cover please don't hesitate to contact us.
As we are all volunteers, it takes time to ensure availability and arrange a crew, we therefore kindly ask to provide us with as much notice as possible of an event. We understand this may not always be possible and we will try to accommodate all enquires if possible.
An enquiry however does not confirm a booking nor constitute a contract, our duty officer will contact you as soon as possible with a quotation and confirmation of availability so that you can make a booking. Many thanks for considering our Unit for your event and we look forward to hearing from you.
